It's spring here in Montana. That means it's kitty weather. Hunter and Pika love rooting around in the yard and generally spending more time outside. Like the rest of us I guess.
Pika, being the runt of the litter that he was, has always had something of a "perma-kitty" quality about him. Even his meow is high-pitched and like a kittens. Except...
When Pika gets stressed out his meow takes on a most mournful tone. Here he is on his recent annual visit and shots to the vet. Which by the way is just up the street so I had the little guy back home in less than 15 minutes. Perfectly healthy!
Every vet or tech that has ever worked on Pika always get a kick out of the little fur in the middle of his nose. Indeed, it is just one of many of his charming characteristics.
My two cats, like most, have OCD about the bathroom. As you saw from an earlier post, Pika loves the tub. Hunter loves to drink from the faucet. He's launches onto the sink anytime I'm even remotely walking toward the bathroom. If he's in the garage or outside being stubborn when I want him in the house, all I have to do is slam the lid of the toilet against the back and he'll come running in. Kooky.
I have recently been hanging out with a friend that is a much better blogger than I. It has inspired me to try yet again (I know, I know, I've said that before here). I've been bad at letting all you Hunter and Pika fans (all three of you) up to date. The short story is that they are both doing great and have been loving the warm winter we've been having here in Montana.
I think my problem being more regular about posting is that I have this ideal that every post needs to be some profound or funny or otherwise clever story. The thing I've learned from reading my friend's blog, is that quality is sometimes found in the mere telling of a story. I also am inspired to pick up on my "Cagey Veteran" blog that will cover more of my outdoor life, friends and activities. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience. Onward... Here is a cute video of Pika playing on my desk. It's a bit long, but you hard core Pika lovers will appreciate it.
PS. The music in the background is a friend of mine from Missoula, Tom Catmull. Check out his music if you can. http://www.tomcatmull.com/
When you are at the Veterinarian, do you check the box "_ I treat my pets like a pet" or do you check, as I do, "_ I treat my pets like part of the family"?
These pages are dedicated to the life and daily adventures of my family, Hunter and Pika. They are brothers born on a ranch near Churchill, Montana July 26, 2003.
Since I work at home we spend a lot of time together and they have unique and crazy personalities; so there is always something adorable or exciting going on.
These are their chronicles.
